The Start of Things
Vinod’s fascination with storytelling began in the early 90s when running his advertising and design agency. This continued in his corporate roles in leadership, training, quality, operations, and business development.
Once, while at Disneyland for a project presentation, Vinod noticed something unusual. Employees weren’t just doing their jobs - they were owning them. When customer issues came up, they made decisions fast. Everyone was driven by a common purpose – ensuring great customer experience.
A behind-the-scenes tour revealed why: they didn’t see themselves as employees but as actors, performing their best on stage. And what fuelled this? A single, powerful story they all aligned to.
That realization changed everything. Vinod applied storytelling in leadership roles at India’s first teleconferencing company, and later at Webex and Cisco. In 2019 he founded Storytelling at Work™.

Founder & CEO
Vinod enables people and organizations to lead with storytelling. Before founding Storytelling at Work™, he spent 3 decades in operations, project leadership, and customer experience at Motorola, WebEx, and Cisco. He is an avid trekker, photographer, and barefoot ultra-marathoner.
Deepa Krishna
Partner & Storytelling Consultant
Deepa has played diverse roles in marketing, strategy, and people management. Over the course of a decade-long career, her belief in the power of storytelling amplified. At Storytelling at Work™, she focuses on driving awareness and building storytelling programs. She enjoys traveling and exploring various genres of movies.
